Hay Chix Quarter Bale Net
The Hay Chix® Quarter Bale Net is the smallest of our nets (fits 2 flakes of a 2-strand bale.) Formerly known as the Micro Mini.
New & Improved! In addition to adding the 1 3/4" Original option, we also made the mouth of the net wider to allow for easier net-filling!
This is one of our favorites to use in the mangers of a trailer but also attaches easily to an eye hook or fence to keep your horses busy in your pasture or paddock.
- Ideal for: Mangers in your trailer, miniature horses, ponies, horses with metabolic issues, and horses with strict feeding schedules.
- How to tie the net closed properly: Watch Here!

Warning: We do not recommend use with horned animals, horses with blankets, or non-breakaway halters. Net may be used with shod horses and animals with split hooves but must be used with a hay ring that is flush with the ground or hung high enough so they cannot paw at it. Net may be used with blankets as long as the buckles are covered or there is a barrier between the netted bale and the blanket. Read entire warning
Ideal for: Use in the field, pasture, paddock or with a feeder.
The Original (1 3/4") opening size is good for horses that haven't used a slow feed net before. It's great for slowing down horses that eat fast, are generally healthy, but waste too much hay.
The SF/Slow Feed (1 1/4") opening size is good for horses that doen't get enough exercise or are metabolic. Very easy keepers who have used slow feed nets before do well on this net level. Also works well as a pacifier for stall-bound horses.
The SFX/Slow Feed Extreme (1") opening size is good for use with miniature horses or horses with metabolic issues. Do not use this opening size if your horses have not used slow feed nets before as it can be very frustrating for your horse. You can start your horse on a larger opening size and transition them to the SFX.
